Bahubali, the Beginning Review by a Member Nadeem Ali

BAHUBALI THE BEGINNING

The Bahubali of Indian Cinema

The story begins with a woman Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan), carrying a baby in her arms and trying to protect him from soldiers. A few villagers spot the child stranded alive in the middle of a river. As the infant is saved, Sivagami points to the top of the mountains and waterfalls and she gets drowned away.

The boy grows up to be the mighty Shivudu (Prabhas), who aspires to climb the waterfall to see what lies up there.  The story get more intense when Shivudu climbs the waterfall and see rebellious warriors fighting against the tyrannical king Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati), who has captured queen Devasena (Anushka Shetty) and has been torturing her for the past 25 years.

Shivudu meet Avanthika (Tamannaah Bhatia) a warrior and one of the followers of the queen. They both fall in love with each other, But BAHUBALI is not a love story.  Unaware of his connection to the kingdom, Shivudu spends his days wooing Avanthika and he replaces her in a mission to rescue Devasena, his past unknowingly catches up with him.

In the first half of the movie we see Shiva scampering up a mighty waterfall and pursuing the feisty Avanthika (Tamannaah). And the second part turns out into a war zone with some good visual effects.

The screenplay written by Madhan Karky, Rahul Koda,  V.Vijayendra Prasad,  S. S. Rajamouli is just completely outstanding revealing twist after twist right until the end.  However Bahubali belongs to Director Rajamouli, it’s his cinematic treat put together on screen which turns out to be Movie which would be remembered for many years. In the battle scene Rajamouli presents an impressive spectacle of war with some nice, dramatic moments which reminds me some of Hollywood movie 300 and Hercules.

Well-acted by RANA, Prabhas and Ramya, Satya Raj. Actress Ramya Krishna, who just outshines everybody with her stellar act. Tamanna’s expression is such a disaster.

Baahubali – The Beginning delivers what it promises. It is a visual feast with the art, camera , vfx and the Background score differentiate itself from a regular period Drama.

The Film is so vast in Shades, development of Character that it can’t be fitted in a running time of 2 and a half hour so the audience needs to wait for the second installment “BAHUBALI THE CONCLUSION”.

Overall a complete package of entertainment.
